Location: Taipei, Taiwan
Base Salary: 2,500,000 – 5,000,000 NTD (commensurate with experience)
Eligibility: Taiwanese Household Registration required (Work visas will not be sponsored)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Behavior Scientist to bridge the gap between rigorous psychological research and cutting-edge artificial intelligence. In this pivotal role, you will work hand-in-hand with our AI software developers to design, train, verify, and validate advanced emotion and behavior models. Your expertise will be instrumental in expanding upon the current capabilities of the EmoNet toolkit, ensuring our AI systems possess a deeply nuanced, scientifically grounded understanding of human emotional states. Depending upon the selected candidate, we offer the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
As a senior leader within our organization, you will oversee complex, cross-functional research initiatives that directly inform our AI development. You will take ownership of the end-to-end lifecycle of human trials—including managing significant trials located in the USA—from initial experimental design to the final interpretation of behavioral data. You will spend a large portion of your time managing and mentoring research teams, fostering a seamless collaboration between psychological researchers and software engineers. Additionally, you will serve as a prominent voice for our organization's technological advancements, and you will be expected to author and present papers at premier technical conferences worldwide.
Education & Experience Requirements
This is a senior-level position requiring deep academic and practical expertise. Candidates must hold a PhD specializing in behavior and psychology research from a top-tier Taiwanese university. Acceptable institutions are strictly limited to National Taiwan University (NTU), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taipei Medical University (TMU), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), China Medical University Taiwan (CMU), or Chang Gung University. A Ph.D. degree from top-tier USA universities will also be acceptable.
Professionally, you must bring more than 10 years of direct experience in designing, managing, and interpreting human trials, alongside more than 10 years of experience managing research teams. A strong history of academic contribution is also mandatory; candidates must be published in reputable local peer-reviewed journals, such as The Chinese Journal of Psychology (CJP), or recognized international academic publications.
Language & Communication
Because this role requires overseeing human trials in the United States and global academic engagement, exceptional communication skills are paramount. Candidates must possess native-level Mandarin proficiency as well as high-level English fluency. Your English proficiency must be demonstrated by a TOEFL iBT speaking score greater than 25 (or equivalent skill). Please be advised that to accurately assess your ability to manage US-based trials and communicate with global stakeholders, the interview process will be conducted entirely in English.
